Our Commitment To Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Here at Service Now, we are grateful to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, acknowledging their Traditional Custodianship of this majestic land.
Their commitment to remembering the past and its heritage offers a unique perspective of a sense of space and time for us to appreciate. We appreciate their keeping the time-honoured wisdom and traditions of this beautiful land and its peoples alive, and we pay our respects to their Elders and Ancestors.
We offer this same respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples we work alongside today. Their valuable contributions are immeasurable in our present day understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders' Original Peoples who inhabited these lands for thousands of years.
Service Now honours the traditional custodianship of the places in and around Australia and is grateful for the preservation of the customs and culture innate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Without these time-honoured traditions and memories passed down through the generations, Australia would not enjoy the rich cultural heritage we see around us today.
We honour the Elders and Ancestors of these people and respect their memories and beliefs. We are grateful to their elders and ancestors for the caring custodianship of this land. We are happy that, as a people, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders continue to practice their cultural heritage and honour the memories and experiences of their forebears.
Many groups of people's heritage has been lost or forgotten in the modern world. But we are proud that the true custodians of the land in which we live kept their rich heritage alive. There is a moral obligation to understand and equate this lived experience with tremendous value worthy of consideration.
The "dream time" and other ancestral memories have become embedded in the hearts and spirits of the present day descendants of the Original Peoples of this land. Something only genuinely understood by these people and their descendants.
Service Now enthusiastically celebrates and supports the voice of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, ensuring that we encourage people from these backgrounds to bring their insights and unique expressions of lived experience to us.
We work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as colleagues and in community enterprises. We welcome the opportunity to better understand their ancient and fascinating culture in all aspects of its development. We do this with patience, sensitivity and an open-minded approach.
We also undertake to develop a greater understanding of the issues and difficulties which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders face. And build together a greater sense of mutual benefit as individuals and as part of the communities in which we operate.
We look forward to furthering our comprehension and admiration for the stalwart efforts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. We hope to gain a greater sense of cohesion and appreciation in our communities and society at large.
Service Now recognises that we have a mission to enhance our cultural proficiency as we strive to collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Whether as individuals or communities, we strive to collaborate in a sensitive, respectful, and proficient manner. Doing so will require concentrated endeavours to cultivate the cultural expertise to which Service Now is committed.
